Roscoe Boscoe “Puddin’ N Pie” Kissed All the little PittyPoo Girls and Made them Cry! | And so began our love affair with Roscoe. We had a wild ride getting into the routine of finding the right amount of insulin to give and giving him two shots a day; then learning how to take blood glucose samples from his tiny, thin little lips! He responded like the trooper he is – never flinched at either the BG testing or the shot! Regulating his food with his readings was also a challenge – but soon we were amply rewarded as we watched him gain weight and turn into a full-fledged active puppy. |
 | He has never seen himself as a dog – from the very first he has slept with us, fully stretched out with his head next to ours on the pillow. (Sometimes he even takes his tissues to bed with him!) |
| Roscoe came into our lives very unexpectedly in July of 2006. He was a pitiful and pathetic sight for a 6-month old puppy – nothing but skin and bones at 11#. We raced him to our Vet who immediately diagnosed him with puppy diabetes, and warned that at the stage he was in, he had very little chance of survival. However, Roscoe had other plans and fought with all that was in him and surprised everyone by coming back from the brink of death. | Hey!! Mom! Dad! I Caught it!!! |
 | Everyone thinks he has pit or greyhound in him – we will probably never know for sure what mix and match he’s made up of! He has one of the most unusual personalities we have ever seen in a dog. At times, he almost even seems cat-like. But always, he is so sweet, personable and friendly that he wins the hearts of everyone he meets. |
You need only to see the pictures to know how goofy he can be. Now, almost 3, his diabetes is well regulated and he is a wonderful, happy, and healthy little guy. His only crime has been that he holds our hearts captive!
