when a friend of our daughter’s asked her to take her in

while the friend

did her second tour of duty in Iraq.

 Little did we know that Sweetie’s owner would not take her

back when she returned.

In the interim, our daughter

moved into a rental where she could not keep her own dog and Sweetie.

A shelter was out of the question, and so…

  When Sweetie finds her new 

 forever home, it will leave a void

in ours; but until then she’s having

a ball and loves being

one of the ‘muttley’ crew in the

Weston Menagerie!

 So, yes, we are foster caring

for her, in the hope that

 we can find her the

very best family who

will make a good home for her.

She is one of the sweetest

little mutts, and has wormed her way into our hearts, so we are going

to be very cautious

about choosing her new family.

 We have been told she’s

probably a cross

between a Rott and an

Australian Cattle Dog.

We have no way of knowing,

 of course, but she sure does

like to herd the other

mutts around in the yard!

She has ‘fallen in’ with them

and feels very much at home.

It is amazing to see them all 

interact so well together.

 Even Honey Bear has taken

a shine to Sweetie!

He loves to bat her in the ears

and play ‘attack cat’

on her muzzle.

Sweetie just accepts it as

‘love taps’ and sits back

and takes it all in!
