   About Us

Our names are Jim & Sue Weston and we live on 10 acres in southeastern Kalkaska County.

We just relocated here after spending a few years driving as long-haul truckers over each of the lower

48 states of our beautiful country.  Now, in addition to starting our pet sitting business, Jim is beginning to realize a lifelong dream of farming organically while Sue works part time at the Kalkaska Public Transportation Authority.

Our ‘family’ includes 5 dogs amd 2 cats definitely close to a goat rodeo most of the time!

Pet sitting is just the next step for us to take ~ a means for us to combine business with pleasure;

one more way for us to reach out and demonstrate our love for all animals, as well as serving

other's needs by doing something that just comes so naturally to us.

Why Place Your Trust in Purely4Pets?

Our Experience in Diverse Pet Care...

We have three young healthy pets, two aging pets, and a young pet with diabetes. We recently experienced an ordeal when our cat's leg was crushed in an accident.   Facing hard decisions is a way of life for pet owners; we know where your heart is.

One of our aging dogs has been afflicted with degenerative disk disease for 5 of his 12 years causing gradual paralysis in his hind quarters; in the past two years we have grieved over the passing of two pets

who suffered from the same disease, both requiring extra care.  So, in our home, you will find a wheel chair

on hand for an elderly, unsteady parent, and also a set of 'wheels' for our old Lab - so that when the time comes when his hind legs can no longer support him, he will have the help he needs to live a 'normal' life.

There have been nights when we walked the floors with our diabetic puppy when his blood glucose levels were too high;  and we travel with a doggy 'diaper' bag, stocked  with extra food, insulin,  karo syrup and fig newtons - for emergency 'hypo' attacks.  Our schedule revolves around his two 12-hour insulin injections.

Designing doggy diapers, booties and beds to help with the special needs of both our aging and diabetic pets has been challenging, but oh so rewarding!
All it takes is one wag, one wiggle, one sloppy kiss... There is never a moment when they do not express their total appreciation for every little thing we do for them.

Boarding Isn't Practical...

With just one pet, boarding is often not even the answer - if you have more than one pet, as we do, or yours has special needs, boarding may be out of the question.  There is a deep sense of relief when someone qualified offers to stand in your stead when you have to be away; one who cares personally for each pet,  whether their needs are great or small.

Your Peace of Mind...

Practicality aside, what images pop into your mind when you envision your pet kenneled for a day - for a week?  Who's feeding him, walking him, snuggling with him?

Your Pet's Welfare...

Your pet deserves to be free of unnecessary stress while you are away - content and given the opportunity to be comfortable in the routine of the familiar surroundings of home.

Family, Friends & Vets Trust Us...

Our family and friends know their pets will be treated as well as we treat our own.  We enjoy a very strong rapport and wonderful relationship with our own Vets at the Charlevoix Animal Hospital.

We sincerely hope we have the opportunity to get to know You and Your Pet!
